STANWOOD — A Stanwood family was displaced after a fire heavily damaged their home Thursday morning.
The fire was reported at 8:59 a.m. along 289th Place NW in the Copper Station neighborhood in the north end of town.
Crews arrived to find flames shooting from the roof, said Scott Johnston, a battalion chief with the North County Regional Fire Authority.
Everyone got out safely, he said. However, only three of the family’s four dogs were found.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Crews also responded from Camano Island.
