EVERETT — An Everett man pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree robbery in the takeover heist of a Monroe Starbucks store April 30.
Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Mark Roe said Friday he will recommend that David Michl Williams Jr., 21, of Everett spend the next 9 1/2years in prison.
Co-defendant Trina Della Petrycki, 24, of Gold Bar is charged with the same crime. Roe said he believes Petrycki will plead guilty soon. Petrycki is a former employee of the Starbucks store who was recognized by some of the workers who were accosted at about opening time.
Gun-toting robbers threatened two employees, who were bound with nylon ties and gagged with duct tape for 40 minutes while a third worker was forced at gunpoint to wait on early morning customers, according to court papers.
Police quickly captured the pair because of Petrycki’s past association with the store.
The couple’s landlord said their favorite movie is "Natural Born Killers," a 1994 film that glamorizes the violent crime spree of two lovers.

Sex offender alert: Snohomish County sheriff’s officials have issued a public warning about a Level 3 sex offender who will live in the 24400 block of 19th Avenue NE in the Arlington area.
Michl Jacob "Jay" Johnson pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree rape of a child in November 1998. His victims were a 7-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy. A third charge involving a 4-year-old boy was dropped, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
Johnson, 16, served his sentence at the Echo Glen Children’s Center, a juvenile prison.
He was convicted of misdemeanor assault and sent back to prison in May 2001. In January, he served a third sentence for violation of an anti-harassment order, Jorgensen said.
He displays continuous compulsive behavior including violations of no-contact orders involving his victims and their families, she said. He also has a high risk of further anti-social behavior, she said.
He is white, 6 feet, with hazel eyes and light brown hair.
Sheriff’s officials will conduct a community meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at President’s Elementary School, 401 N. French Ave., in Arlington. Anyone with concerns about his presence in the community or who wants more information should attend the meeting.
