OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson has filed a campaign finance complaint against a union and its political action committee, accusing them of not filing timely reports of contributions.
Ferguson announced Tuesday that the complaint against Service Employees International Union Local 925 and SEIU Local 925 Public Service PAC was filed in Thurston County Superior Court.
The attorney general’s office received a complaint in August from the Freedom Foundation alleging multiple violations of state public disclosure laws by the union. The complaint filed by Ferguson says that between 2011 and 2015, SEIU 925 failed to file reports of $635,000 in donations made to SEIU 925 PAC as well as to other individuals and political committees. The complaint also alleges the union didn’t file in-kind contributions, like staff time, office space and telephones, that it made to the committee, and that the committee also failed to file reports of those in-kind contributions.
