OLYMPIA — The state Department of Social and Health Services has reported that an employee was fired for watching porn on his computer during work hours.
KCPQ-TV reported that the agency released a report Thursday saying an investigation found that the employee had spent more than 300 hours on the Internet for non-work related purposes, including watching porn and browsing car parts.
The report says the employee, who has not been identified, claimed there wasn’t enough work for him to stay busy. Details pertaining to the nature of his job were not provided.
The state reported that he visited more than 150 websites where he had access to sexually explicit films and photographs.
The department says they found out about the employee’s activity from a whistleblower complaint.
