PULLMAN — The state Department of Transportation hasn’t received any interest in using the rail line from Colfax to Pullman, indicating there may no longer be any need for it.
Agency rail manager Chris Herman says no one has expressed an interest in using the line for the past six years.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reported the agency will not make a decision whether to close or abandon the line until at least the beginning of next year.
The Colfax to Pullman stretch covers 19 miles and hasn’t been operational since 2006, when a trestle burned down.
