State Patrol gives ‘sea of bikes’

Those who work in the local Washington State Patrol district had a cold, busy morning in Marysville.

WSP troopers, staffers and their families donated more than 100 bikes for needy children.

They planned to meet around 9 a.m. Friday at the local WSP headquarters, put helmets on the bikes and get ready them for delivery, trooper Keith Leary said. They then loaded up the bikes and brought them to a toy drive in Seattle.

Leary shared a picture, calling it “a sea of bikes.” The WSP employees and their families also donated $1,600 in toys.
