PASCO — A state psychologist says a man accused of a Pasco shooting is pretending to be incompetent in an attempt to avoid his murder trial.
Eastern State Hospital psychologist Nathan Henry examined Ramon Garcia-Morales and told Franklin County Superior Court that he is malingering.
The Tri-City Herald reports his lawyers have hired a psychologist for a second opinion, and there may be a contested competency hearing.
The 29-year-old Kennewick man and his 25-year-old brother are charged with murder and attempted murder in a Dec. 10 shooting at a home where a man was killed and his wife wounded.
