VANCOUVER — State Sen. Don Benton of Vancouver plans to lead a weeklong trade mission to Cambodia to promote trade and governmental ties.
Benton told The Columbian that he’ll take unpaid time off from his job at Clark County’s director of environmental services. He says he will be acting in his capacity as a state senator but no state funds will be used.
Benton says he’ll spend $2,200 of his own money. Some costs may be paid by the government of Cambodia.
