OLYMPIA — State Sen. Mike Carrell has been diagnosed with a blood condition that could lead to leukemia.
He told The News Tribune that he had been feeling tired and spent several nights at an Olympia hospital before he was diagnosed last week. He’s receiving treatment to increase his red blood cell count.
The Lakewood Republican told constituents his condition and treatment won’t affect his ability to represent them and he expects to be back at work in the Legislature.
