The state Department of Health this afternoon suspended the license of the Topper Motel in Everett because of violations involving sanitation, air quality, fire and safety and plumbing.
The state requires the motel to be vacated by 5 p.m. Sunday.
The city was expected to announce at 3 p.m. today if repairs being made at the Topper would keep it open, or the motel would have had to be vacated by 11 a.m. Friday. That order is expected to be put on hold.
On May 12, the city hearing examiner called the Topper a dangerous building and therefore a public nuisance as outlined by city laws.
City agencies have been helping Topper tenants search for other housing in case it was closed.
