EVERETT — The adult stepson of an Everett family reportedly admitted to police Tuesday that he was responsible for graffiti threats and racial slurs scrawled on his family’s car and garage.
Police were twice called early Tuesday to reports of the spray painted slurs and threats on the car and a garage in the 2400 block of 81 Place SE in the Valley View neighborhood, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
During an investigation, detectives interviewed the adult son of the people who live in the home, Goetz said. The man, 21, admitted to detectives that he drew the graffiti.
“At this time, police are still trying to determine motive,” Goetz said late Tuesday.
It wasn’t immediately clear if detectives would arrest the man. Court records show the man earlier this year was convicted for drug possession and ordered to serve 30 days in jail.
