STEVENS PASS — Snow blanketed Stevens Pass on Monday night, causing the roads to be slick and making October look more like December.
About 5 inches of snow accumulated, National Weather Service meteorologist Danny Mercer said.
Sunshine and warmer daytime temperatures are expected to melt whatever snow fell, he said.
Scant precipitation is forecast through the next several days. With clear skies overnight, temperatures likely will drop below freezing and cause any standing water to freeze, Mercer said. Drivers should use caution in the mornings.
Snowfall in the mountains isn’t enough at this point to give forecasters concerns about early-season flooding, Mercer said.
