Still unclear if fire chief firing will end up in court

LAKE STEVENS — Remember the legal snafu between Snohomish County Fire District 8 and its former chief?

I wrote about the district terminating former chief Gary Faucett while he was on vacation in September. The Lake Stevens-based district has stayed pretty mum about the whole affair, referring all media questions to its lawyer, Brian Snure.

Faucett has referred any media questions to his lawyer, Jon Rosen.

Snure said Wednesday that no lawsuit has been filed, and they “currently consider this matter closed.”

It might not be that simple.

Rosen said the issue is still moving along but slowly.
