MONROE – Stacks of stolen property seized from a Sultan house in March will soon be available for crime victims to reclaim.
Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives have sorted through hundreds of items, including air compressors, drills, chain saws, cameras, guitars, pressure washers, welders and other household electronics, tools and equipment.
Those items will be on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 23 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave. SE, in Monroe.
Police found piles of suspected stolen property when they raided a fencing operation just south of Sultan. Investigators believe stolen goods were being traded for methamphetamine.
The resident, 41, was arrested in connection with the stolen property.
The sheriff’s office loaded the property into several storage lockers. Some of it has been returned to victims since the raid.
Police don’t believe the theft ring extended outside the county. It had been in operation since early 2004.
People who want to come to the viewing must have photo identification and a copy of a police report listing the stolen property.
If residents don’t have a copy of a police report, they are encouraged to request one as soon as possible from the police agency where the burglary or theft was reported.
Those claiming property will be required to complete paperwork before the items are returned.
If more than one person claims the same item, the property will not be released at the viewing and police will investigate further.
Anyone with questions about the viewing should call the sheriff’s office at 360-805-6770.
