Its fur almost looks blue. Short ears and fangs give it a doglike look, and some say its eyes glow in the dark.
A mystery creature with all the makings of a character in a good “X-Files” episode turned up dead last week in southern Maine. Some folks in the town of Turner speculate it may be the beast that has preyed on dogs and terrified residents for nearly a generation.
They call it the Maine chupacabra (goat sucker), the Northeast version of the mystery predator that reportedly left a trail of carcasses across Puerto Rico and the Southwest.
Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman studied the remains and offered a tamer hypothesis – a chow or chow mix turned feral.
“Nevertheless, this interesting body probably has nothing to do with the local killing, and it is highly doubtful the real mystery beast,” Coleman told the Bangor Daily News.
Someone call Mulder and Scully.
Henrietta the hen is couple’s bridesmaid
BISMARCK, N.D. – Chicken was a part of the wedding of Terry Morris and Renee Biwer, but it had nothing to do with the menu or the name of a popular dance.
Henrietta, a hen, was a bridesmaid.
“She was a very good girl,” maid of honor Paulette Winn said. “She wanted to eat part of the flower she was wearing.”
Henrietta is the pet of the groom. About the size of a dove, she fit into the crook of flower girl Jasmyne Morris’ arm.
It was only natural for Henrietta to be in the wedding, Renee Morris said.
“She’s a part of the family, and like one of our children,” she said.
