The 2007 Marysville Strawberry Festival talent show organizers are looking for people of all ages to participate in the event, set for June 14.

‘Walk a Mile’ fundraiser is Friday
Salvation Army and the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women have scheduled a fundraising event, “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes,” set for 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday inside Alderwood mall.
Those interested in participating are asked to put together teams of four people to “walk a mile,” acknowledging the challenges facing many families and individuals who live in Snohomish County.

Youth Arts Festival volunteers needed
The Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center is looking for volunteers to help with various phases of its ninth annual Youth Arts Festival, which is set for May 19.

Clothing and textile volunteers camp
Clothing and textile adviser volunteers at the Washington State University Snohomish County Extension Office present a sewing camp each summer for young people. Camp Stitch-A-Lot is open to youths between ages 8 and 17.
Each one-week class session is three hours a day. Sessions run from June 25-29 and again from July 9-13.
Classes in three levels of sewing experience are planned, and participants can register for beginning to advanced classes. The fee is $30 a session. Registration ends June 1.

Lynnwood Parks offers scholarship
Applications are being accepted by the Lynnwood Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department for the Randy Terlicker Memorial Aquatics and Life Safety Scholarship.
Students and professionals who are interested in obtaining a scholarship to help finance training and education in aquatics, life safety and related fields are encouraged to apply.
Scholarships will be determined by the applicant’s commitment to excellence, a desire for improvement of self and community, letters of recommendation and completion of a written application. Deadline is May 31.
Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel and recipients will be announced in June.
