EVERETT — Inmates and corrections officers at the Snohomish County Jail reportedly stopped a suicide attempt there Monday night.
A 40-year-old woman who had been booked a week earlier was attempting to hang herself, sheriff’s Lt. Normal Link said. Others were able to grab her before she hurt herself and she is now on suicide watch, he said.
Additional details were not released as of Wednesday. Suicides and other deaths at the jail in recent years have led to controversy, followed by reforms in operations and medical care.
The deaths of 13 inmates have been reported at the jail since 2010.
