CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a North Carolina man apparently killed his wife and two daughters days ago, but spared two other children before killing himself as police arrived.
Charlotte police said today that 33-year-old Kenneth Jermaine Chapman shot and killed himself as police arrived late Monday at the family’s apartment in southeast Charlotte. Two children then ran from the apartment unharmed.
Officers say they found 13-year-old Na’Jhae Parker and 13-month-old Nakyiah Jael Chapman, who appeared to have been dead for days.
Investigators then went to another apartment that 34-year-old Nateesha Ward Chapman was leasing, where they found her dead. Police didn’t immediately say how she and the children died.
