TACOMA — The 26-year-old Tacoma man accused of killing his 2-year-old daughter to punish his estranged wife is on suicide watch at the Pierce County Jail.
Salvador Sanchez-Orozco wore a suicide-prevention suit at his appearance Thursday in Pierce County Superior Court.
KIRO reports he was ordered held on $2 million on a first-degree murder charge.
He called 911 Wednesday and told the dispatcher he killed his daughter. He tried to choke himself to death with a dog leash, but deputies arrived in time to save him.
