OLYMPIA — Recent warm weather increased the numbers of motorcycles on Washington highways — and the number of motorcycle accidents.
The State Patrol says there have been at least four motorcycle fatalities in the past two weeks bringing the total so far this year to 11.
Lt. Michael Turcott says that compares with seven at this time last year. The total number of fatalities last year on street-licensed motorcycles was 76.
Turcott says, “If we have lots of weekends like this, it’s going to be a very bad year.”
