FORKS — A man suspected of stabbing an 18-year-old woman to death in Forks was has been arrested.
Sgt. Ed Klahn says a tip from the public led to the arrest Wednesday of 25-year-old Moises Ramirez Matias, also known as Dario Ramirez Moises. He’s jailed for investigation of the death of Laranda Konopaski.
The Peninsula Daily News reported that the couple’s 4-year-old daughter was in the home at the time Sunday and called 911. The girl was not injured and is now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
Konopaski’s sister, Vinetta Konopaski, told the Port Angeles newspaper Laranda worked as a housekeeper in the summers at Olson’s Resort in Sekiu and attended school full time to graduate with her class last year at Clallam Bay High School.
