ELLENSBURG — A suspect in five Ellensburg arsons is in custody.
Police arrested 20-year-old Zachary Tyler Vantuyl of Ellensburg Tuesday night and booked him into jail for investigation of arson.
Daily Record reported that police believe he is responsible for a series of fires that started in April and caused more than $325,000 in damage. The fires were set at two houses, a food bank, a barn on the Ellensburg Rodeo grounds and most recently on Saturday night at a church.
Capt. Dan Hansberry said Vantuyl was identified as a person of interest through police investigation.
