ARLINGTON – A 20-year-old Arlington woman surrendered to police late Tuesday after the release of surveillance photos from a bank robbery in Arlington a few hours earlier.
The woman was arrested without incident about 9:30 p.m. in Everett, Arlington police Sgt. Jonathan Ventura said. She appeared to still be wearing the outfit documented in surveillance photographs during the Arlington robbery: a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and a brown jacket.
Police allege the woman held up the Arlington Key Bank branch around 1:30 p.m.
Detectives recognized the woman in surveillance photos from previous incidents, Ventura said.
They made contact with her through friends and convinced her to give herself up.
Police believe the woman acted alone during the holdup.
The woman was cooperative with police, Ventura said.
She reached a low point in her life and the robbery was “something she never imagined herself doing,” he said.
The woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery and an outstanding warrant.
She was scheduled to appear before a judge this afternoon.
