MONROE – A 30-year-old Everett man who walked out of his criminal hearing Friday was arrested in Monroe on Sunday after police used a helicopter and dogs to track him down.
He was later booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of escape, two counts of burglary and a previous felony warrant for a forgery incident in Lynnwood, said Jan O’Neil, administrative commander with Monroe police.
Details of the Friday hearing were not available late Sunday night, and it was unclear what case it involved.
Police received information the man was staying at a home in the Fryelands area in Monroe, she said. Officers staked out the home and saw him leave in a vehicle shortly before 10 a.m., O’Neil said.
Police pulled him over but the man left the car and ran. A Snohomish County police helicopter was sent out, and police from the county, Monroe and Everett pursued the man for more than an hour before he was tracked by dogs and found hiding in a shed about 11 a.m., O’Neil said. He had broken into a residence and the shed during his flight.
