EVERETT — A man suspected of an Everett bank robbery last week was arrested Wednesday afternoon, thanks to an alert Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy.
The deputy spotted a vehicle believed to be associated with a Friday robbery at KeyBank, 1902 110th St. SE.
The suspect had a warrant and appeared similar to a description of the bank robber, Everett police reported in a press release.
The man was arrested. Everett’s Major Crimes detectives were asked to investigate.
On Friday, a man handed the teller a note saying, “This is a robbery. Give me all your cash and reserve. I have a gun.” He was given an undisclosed amount of cash.
A witness had seen the man park a Lexus, enter the bank, then run back to the car at the time of the robbery. While running, a dye pack inside the bag of money exploded and the male dropped the cash as smoke billowed out. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle, but the witness provided officers a description and the license plate number.
Detectives worked with the teller and surveillance video to establish probable cause for an arrest. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
