OREGON CITY, Ore. — A reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder of an Oregon weighmaster has been increased to $25,000.
Clackamas County commissioners on Tuesday upped the reward for information leading to the arrest of 42-year-old Dirck White in the Feb. 6 shooting death of Grady Waxenfelter.
The man was killed while conducting a traffic stop on a commercial truck near Boring, Oregon. A person riding with Waxenfelter witnessed the shooting.
The reward previously was $16,000.
At the time of the shooting, White was sought on a Pierce County weapons charge warrant.
A Clackamas County murder arrest warrant has been issued for White.
The county has agreed to pay $700,000 to settle a wrongful death claim filed by Waxenfelter’s wife.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined the county $2,100, saying the employee was at risk because his work vehicle looked too much like a police car.
