EVERETT – A man who reportedly robbed an espresso stand at gunpoint may have left behind a good tip: his fingerprints.
The robbery happened just before 8 a.m. Monday at a drive-through espresso stand in the 11300 block of Highway 99, Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy Rich Niebusch said.
The man reportedly drove up in stolen car, flashed a small handgun and demanded money.
Before he drove off with the cash, the man reportedly picked up a coffee cup. Investigators were able to get fingerprints off the cup.
They are hoping to be able to identify the man through his prints.
Cause of fire at shop in downtown unknown
Fire investigators have been unable to determine what caused a fire at a New Age gift shop in downtown Everett Saturday night.
Investigators sifted through the damage at Moonflower Magicks, but were unable to find any specific cause, Everett Fire Marshal Glen Martinsen said Monday.
“It’s possible some other evidence could come up but barring that, our investigation is done and we’ve ruled the cause as undetermined,” Martinsen said.
The shop, located at the corner of Colby Avenue and California Street, was significantly damaged in the blaze. Firefighter arrived about 11 p.m. to find flames bursting through the street-level windows. Crews were able to extinguish the blaze without it spreading to adjacent businesses.
