EDMONDS — An Edmonds woman was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning while getting out of her car at the Park 212 apartments at 7300 213th Place SW.
Police searched for the suspect but did not immediately locate him, Sgt. Mark Marsh said.
The woman, 35, wasn’t seriously hurt. Police don’t believe shots were fired.
The robbery was reported about 9:10 a.m. The man ran from the scene.
As a safety precaution, nearby Edmonds-Woodway High School was placed on lockdown for about thirty minutes during the incident, district spokeswoman DJ Jakala said.
The suspect was described as black, in his 20s or 30s, and with pock marks on his face. He spoke with a heavy accent, believed to be African, Marsh said.
He wore a white T-shirt underneath a black hooded sweatshirt.
The investigation continues.
