STANWOOD — The suspect in the armed robbery of a Stanwood bank Thursday remained at large Friday.
Witnesses describe the assailant as a man in his late teens or early 20s. He wore black tape across his nose, a grey “hoodie” sweatshirt, a beige shirt and jeans.
The man, who had a handgun, physically assaulted a teller at Whidbey Island Bank during the holdup around noon Thursday, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
After the robbery, he ran south on 72nd Avenue NW.
Deputies and a police dog searched the area for several hours.
