The sheriff’s office says the homeowner didn’t know the man who was shot.
The dead man was identified as Barry Parnel of Vancouver, Wash. He died at a Vancouver hospital.
The homeowner was identified as 59-year-old Leland Larsen.
Sgt. Fred Neiman says no one has been arrested. It wasn’t clear how the homeowner became aware of the suspect.
