EVERETT — Police here made the first arrest in a strange burglary case out of Mount Vernon.
Philadelphia Phillies player Kyle Kendrick’s home in Mount Vernon was burglarized in late March or early April. Many of his personal baseball souvenirs were stolen, including a World Series ring and other rings.
Everett police arrested an Arlington man, 33, last week, and they found one of the missing championship rings in his car. He was later arrested and booked into Snohomish County jail for investigation of possession of stolen property, according to Mount Vernon police.
The Everett case helped Mount Vernon detectives find more stolen items and a few more suspects.
On Tuesday, Everett police joined Mount Vernon police in searching an apartment in south Everett. A man and a woman there were arrested for investigation of burglary and possession of and trafficking in stolen property. Police also found more of Kendrick’s baseball souvenirs at the apartment, officials said.
Detectives in Mount Vernon believe the case could be linked to burglaries in multiple counties.
They urge anyone with information, including tips about the missing World Series ring or other memorabilia to call detective Brandon Young at 360-336-6255.
