CAMANO ISLAND – Deputies today investigated reports of suspicious activity on south Camano Island.
There is no evidence to link the incidents to notorious teenage burglar Colton Harris-Moore, Island County Sheriff’s Detective Ed Wallace said.
About 8:30 this morning, Island County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report that someone may have stayed without permission in a camper on the south side of the island, Wallace said.
They found no evidence that a crime was committed.
Deputies later today received another report of a person dressed in dark clothing walking in the woods in the same area, Wallace said. The person wasn’t located.
A string of burglaries recently broke out on south Camano Island. People in the community should continue to be vigilant, he said.
“We are glad that people are paying attention,” Wallace said.
