ALTON, Texas — An SUV carrying 12 children has rolled over in rural South Texas, leaving one of the children dead and 9 other kids injured.
The Monitor newspaper reports that the driver of a 2001 Ford Explorer lost control of her vehicle and skidded before rolling over once.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that 12 children were inside the car. A 9-year-old girl was pronounced dead at a Mission hospital. Nine others and the adult driver were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
