SUV driver crashes into Spokane motel room; 1 hurt

SPOKANE — Police in Spokane are investigating after an SUV crashed into a motel room. One person in the room was taken to a hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

KXLY-TV reported that authorities say the driver was in a parking lot Tuesday when she backed out and her vehicle got caught on a tow hitch. The driver accelerated to get unstuck, freed her vehicle, sped across the parking lot and crashed into the Apple Tree Inn.

Two people reportedly were inside the motel room. One was taken to a hospital.

KXLY reports the driver is OK and is cooperating with police.
