NAMPA, Idaho — A southwest Idaho official says businesses are having a hard time finding skilled workers.
Nampa Economic Development Director Beth Ineck made the comments Thursday at the Nampa Chamber’s Business and Breakfast event.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that Ineck told participants that she met with 45 Nampa businesses during the last year and more than half have added new employees.
She says that 45 percent of those businesses struggle to find skilled workers and all are concerned about having a good workforce.
She says the city plans to work with local colleges and the Idaho Department of Labor to bring in more talented workers to the area.
Ineck says there are seven companies that want to expand in Nampa, creating 470 new jobs.
