TACOMA — Tacoma Public Schools has put a high school teacher on paid administrative leave after a parent complained about his personal website.
The website promotes the teacher’s photography business and features photographs of young people in bathing suits, including the daughter of the parent who complained.
The website, which is now disabled, invited young people who are at least 18 years old and who could provide proof of high school graduation to be photographed for free so that the teacher could build a sample portfolio and generate referrals for his photography.
Tacoma Public Schools spokesman Dan Voelpel told The News Tribune the district is investigating the parent complaint against the Stadium High School teacher.
