HARRINGTON, Del. — Delaware State Police said a teenager killed his father with a crossbow, the arrow shooting him in the stomach, but investigators haven’t determined a motive in the case.
Authorities said 17-year-old Seth H. Ramsey of Harrington was arrested Thursday. Police said they went to the family’s home to check on his father, 41-year-old Todd Ramsey, who had failed to show up for work. Police said that at the home, the teen admitted he had killed his father.
Police took Seth Ramsey into custody, and then went inside and found his father dead in a bedroom. Authorities said the cause of death was a single arrow wound to the abdomen.
Seth Ramsey is charged as an adult with first-degree murder. He is being held at a juvenile detention facility without bail.
