LYNNWOOD — Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a bomb threat that shut down the library at Edmonds Community College earlier today.
The boy is a student at the college. He was arrested shortly after police finished searching the library and the rest of Lynnwood Hall, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.
The boy allegedly called multiple times saying that a bomb would explode in the library at 11 a.m. The suspect reportedly made references to shootings on the campus of Virginia Tech University that left 33 people dead.
The hall was evacuated and locked down while bomb-sniffing dogs searched the building. No classes were canceled and the building was reopened about 11:30 a.m.
The boy is expected to be booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center.
