SEATTLE — A 19-year-old Algona man has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend’s 13-year-old brother in the town of Pacific.
King County prosecutors also charged Brandon James Suhr with burglary on Wednesday and asked that his initial $1 million bail be increased to $2 million.
Suhr’s arraignment is scheduled for June 18.
In court documents, detectives say Suhr told them he climbed into the 16-year-old girl’s apartment via a second-story balcony on May 31 and entered a bedroom. Suhr reportedly said he stabbed the 13-year-old “in self defense.” Police say the girl told them Suhr threatened and choked her and made her leave the apartment with him.
Asked how he felt about the boy’s death, police say Suhr told them, “It’s not going to make my day any better or worse.”
The 13-year-old’s name has not been released.
