GOLD BAR — A teenage girl fell over Wallace Falls on Saturday afternoon, but was rescued a short time later.
Lt. Rodney Rochon of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said a 911 caller reported at about 3:15 p.m. that the 17-year-old had fallen about 20 feet over the lower Wallace Falls but had managed to climb ashore.
Rescue personnel for Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue, Fire District 26 and Wallace Falls State Park rangers responded. Emergency crews were needed to perform a rope rescue to pull the girl up the cliff to safety, Rochon said. The victim was brought to safety by 4:30 p.m. She was not seriously injured.
