EVERETT — Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were searching for a hit-and-run suspect after a Jeep struck a teenager Monday near Mariner High School.
The tan Jeep Wrangler hit the boy, a Mariner student, around 9:40 a.m. near the intersection of 124th Street SW and Fourth Avenue W, just south of Everett, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The boy, 17, was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. His injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.
Another driver tried to follow the fleeing vehicle but eventually lost sight of it, Ireton said.
The Jeep was last seen headed north on Meridian Avenue S, at the northeast corner of the high school campus.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts can call 911.
