PUYALLUP — The 16-year-old boy who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Sunday night at the rail station in Puyallup has been identified by the Pierce County medical examiner’s office as Marcus Musson.
Police Lt. Scott Engle said the Puyallup teen had been standing with a friend inside a yellow warning line on the platform. As the train approached the friend stepped back but Musson was struck in the head and died at the scene.
KIRO-TV reports the boys may have been playing a game of chicken.
Amtrak says the Cascade train with 219 passengers was traveling from Portland to Vancouver, British Columbia. It was held for a time for the investigation.
