EVERETT — An 18-year-old motorcyclist who died in a collision Saturday has been identified.
Around 8:40 p.m., the teen “ran a red light” at the intersection of Gibson Road and Admiralty Way in Everett, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. He collided with another vehicle and died at the scene, police said.
According to the sheriff’s office, he was fleeing from troopers and being followed by the Washington State Patrol’s air unit.
The motocycle rider was identified as Larry V. Popach, of Marysville, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Tuesday. He was 18.
The medical examiner determined his death was caused by blunt force injuries.
