SPOKANE — Spokane police said vandalism that appeared to be a religious hate crime is the result of a dispute between two teenage girls.
Police have identified a suspect in what they’re now calling an isolated event.
It was listed as possible malicious harassment because of what officers found about 2 a.m. Monday when they were called to a home.
Swastikas and foul language had been painted on the house, two cars, two trucks and two boats. There were disparaging remarks about Jesus and references to God hating the family. A Bible had been set on fire on the porch.
The house and property also had been egged and toilet papered. Police estimate damage in the thousands of dollars.
