EDMONDS — Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives were trying to unravel a Friday night fight among teenagers that ended when someone drove a pickup truck into a boy, resulting in serious injuries.
As many as eight young people ages 16 to 19 were involved in a scuffle that started near Esperance Park around nightfall, sheriff’s Lt. Rodney Rochon said.
The teens split into two groups, he said. One group walked away and another got into a pickup truck.
The truck driver then rammed into one boy who was walking and then sped off, Rochon said.
The boy was conscious when medics took him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Edmonds police took four teens into custody when they stopped the pickup.
Detectives with the sheriff’s collision investigation unit are expected to look into the incident.
