MUKILTEO – Teachers and the Mukilteo School Board have reached a tentative agreement for a three-year contract, officials from both sides said Tuesday.
The proposal will be presented to the 850-member teachers union Aug. 27.
“We’ve got a tentative agreement,” said Andy Muntz, a school district spokesman.
Negotiators met for five hours Monday before reaching the accord.
“We’re pretty pleased with it,” said Shirley Andrews, president of the union. “I don’t want to say anything until I can present it to the members and let them decide but I think they will be pretty happy … The bargaining team will recommend it highly.”
Classes are scheduled to begin Sept. 1 in the Mukilteo district.
