I have made the most amazing discovery in my garden. My irises, which I separated in the fall, are starting to send up little glorious signs of life. I love the irises, and I have fretted all winter that I some how messed up and killed them. Thankfully, it looks like I didn’t. (The shoots are too tiny for me to get a picture of yet, but you can bet I’ll have one here soon. I’m proud of myself for doing something in my garden that scared me.)
Also, my crocus are still blooming, even after the rough snow. I did find few off the bulbs laying around this winter. I assume they were dug up by squirrels, but they obviously didn’t get them all.
This weekend, it’s time for more gardening projects. We will be making the raised beds chicken-proof and getting some seeds and (possibly) starts in the ground. Let’s hope for a nice weekend. Fellow gardeners, please cross your fingers with me for not too much rain.
