It’s probably a good thing Gov. Chris Gregoire couldn’t speak to the Washington State Labor Council this morning. (She literally couldn’t speak because of laryngitis.)
She would have encountered some very frustrated people like Carol Dotlich.
Dotlich expressed the anger of many at Gregoire’s decision to erase raises from negotiated agreements without talking with workers.
“As you know our members went to the mat for this governor,” Dotlich told the crowd. “To us if the boss thinks there’s no value in unionization beyond campaigns, that’s union busting.”
In a subsequent interview, Dotlich said:
“The message we’re receiving is there is no respect for the work that we do This governor we really believe had integrity and we’d like that to come out again.”
