MONROE – The early Saturday crash near Monroe that already took two lives has claimed a third.
An Everett man, Christopher S. Anderson, 26, died early this morning at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said.
Two men, believed to be in their 20s died around 2 a.m. Saturday on Highway 522 when their car, a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon, crossed over the centerline and hit an oncoming pickup truck, Leary said. Their identities and hometowns have not yet been released.
Anderson was flown by helicopter to Harborview.
It appears the Hyundai driver was headed east on the highway when he drove off the road to the right, over corrected, then crossed back onto the road over the centerline and struck a 2001 Ford F250.
Investigators don’t know why the Hyundai veered off the road or whether alcohol was a factor, he said.
The driver of the pickup truck, 26, of Snohomish, suffered minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, Leary said.
