About 7,500 homes remain without power this morning after high winds swept through Snohomish County yesterday.
The outages are primarily in the north county, including Marysville and Arlington. All major transmission lines and substations are up and crews are working to repair isolated outages, said Snohomish County PUD spokesman Neil Neroutsos.
“I don’t have an estimate but crews are working as hard as they can,” he said.
There are approximately 70 crews out in the field, including some from Benton and Franklin counties.
At the peak of the storm about 85,000 people were left in the dark. High winds toppled trees and sent branches into power lines.
Crews have been working since Thursday afternoon to clean up the mess.
“The damage was not as widespread as last fall,” Neroutsos said.
The forecast is calling for a break in blustery weather. Rain is forecasted to move in and stay through the weekend.
